We were showed a map about what different counties in the country call "soda." Obviously we call it soda. Many other places in the U.S call it pop, like Mr. Schick. Also we talked about how some people just straight up call it coke. Any kind of soda is just coke. An example that was used is
- hey can you grab me a coke?
~ sure. what kind?
- 7up please.
I was also used in another example, when we talked about me getting baptized and my head spinning around like in the Exorcist, it was a pretty funny class.

HW 11-14-14
Japan's national anthem. I found it extremely peaceful and actually really nice. It is not militaristic at all. It does sound like old-fashioned Japanese. It's short and sweet and doesn't talk about bombs, war, killing, or anything other than peace and tranquility. It's all about nature and just existing, not destroying Britain or seeing through the night because of explosions (which is pretty cool, but still). It's all about nature.
Lyrics:
君が代は
千代に八千代に
さざれ(細)石の
いわお(巌)となりて
こけ(苔)の生すまで
or
May your reign
Continue for a thousand, eight thousand generations,
Until the pebbles
Grow into boulders
Lush with moss

11-13 homework
Today in class we took a test. I found it pretty easy. however, i think i may have made a couple mistakes. I thought i remembered you lecturing me about how Putin used chemical warfare against his own people. Apparently I was wrong. It was Bashar al-Assad who did that. I am confident that i did well on the test, however, and i think that i only got that and maybe one other thing wrong.

Homework 11-12
today in class, we talked a lot about impeachment. We went over overthrowing the countries leaders, which in some countries is illegal in itself. I'm not sure how I think about assassination. If they are seriously hurting people and they are dying for no apparent reason. For instance, al-Assad has been torturing inmates. In the Syria prisons. I have seen pictures of the corpses, and they have died harsh, painful deaths at the hands of their government. He also openly supports ISIS. Is this all enough to consider assassination? Maybe not yet, but he is certainly on the right track.

11/6/2014 Homework
Today in class, Kendle and I presented our PowerPoint. I hate public speaking. It is a terrible, terrible thing to do to a teenager, or anybody for that matter. Public speaking is kinda like the punishment for the demons that Satan thinks require punishment, And if the Devil thinks something is bad, it's BAD. Just my opinion though. And everybody else's....
At my old school I had to deliver a speech to all the students in third through eighth grade. I, of course, had to go first in my group (All eighth graders had to give a speech on the topic we chose. We presented to the school in small groups on Fridays). I was terrified. However I was talking about a topic which I knew well, Scuba Diving, and easily preached to the crowd. I'm just glad the lights were in face and were too bright for me to see all the faces starring up at me. I tend to get more comfortable speaking in class as I get to know my peers. Don't worry though, Mr. Schick, I realize that I need to start taking school more seriously; starting about.... say..... 9 years ago, perhaps?
